We need helpers for Shot Put at 1.50pm and 2.50pm - please volunteer.

Relay is the always popular 4 x 100m at 3.50pm - if you would like to run the relay please put your name down at the tent at the start of the meet.  We have to put entries in 30 min before the relay so we need names as early as possible.

Australian Short Course Championships

While we are lighting up the track at the Domain, Jacob Despard with the setting the Sydney Olympic Park track on fire in the 60m Championship.  Good Luck Jacob!

OVA TAL Carnival

Two weeks ago we put on an event for our 5km runners, on Sunday we turn our attention to the Sprinter and Handicap race runners as we host the OVA TAL Carnival at the Domain.  The carnival starts at 12pm and is a great show of hanidcap racing.  This is a fundraising event for OVA and we need your support to make it successful.  There are lots of easy jobs that we need helpers for - even a hour on the BBQ would be great.  Please comment on our post in the members facebook group, or come to the tent on Saturday to find out what job you can help with.  Please support us, so we can support you.

Congratulations

Club and State Records are falling in rapid fire.  Jacob Despard lowered his time for the 60m, becoming the fastest Tasmanian over that distance.  Milah Hatten sent the discus flying broke the u16 Discus record at our last interclub.  Bailey van den Broek coming back from injury broke the u17 - Open OVA Long Jump record. Ella Atkins set a new record for the 800m in the u20 and Open age groups with a fabulous run at Vic Milers last week.

Jacob Despard won the 60m State Championship.

Brad Tennick came 3rd in 5000m State Championship.

Show Case Meet - 4.30pm Saturday 8th Feb

Expressions of Interest close at 5pm on Sunday 2 February for the Athletics South Showcase Meet.  With prize money and incentives up for grabs this is a meet not to be missed.  Events include Women's 400m, Men's 800m, Women's Mile, Men's Javelin, Women's Discus, Men's Long Jump and Women's Long Jump.  Expressions interest need to include details of your season best performance and should be emailed to Jarrod Gibson jg2464@bigpond.net au.  This is a World Ranking Meet.

The Tasmanian 100 Yards Championship will also be a part of this event but entries are done through the AT website entry portal.
