A Message from the OVA Committee

The OVA Southern Saints Athletics Club endorses the message recently made by Athletics Tasmania.

We want to assure you our priority is the OVA is a safe, supportive and welcoming club for all and think our diversity and inclusivity speak for themselves.  We want to emphasise our small and devoted committee are dedicated to safeguarding the welfare of our members.  Our committee and coaches hold all the required accreditations as needed for their role in the sport, and we are all committed to keeping the Domain Athletics Centre and this wonderful sport a safe place for all.

We do not tolerate unacceptable behaviour in any format, including bullying and harassment online.

If anyone has any concerns please follow the advice given in the AT statement below.

Interclub – Round 11

Morning interclub kicks off at 9am on Saturday – let’s fill the track and field with OVA blue, green and gold!

First up is the 5000m, Hammer and Long Jump.

We have Discus at 10am and 10.50am with helpers needed for this event please – lots of easy jobs, please come over and help out.

Relay is 4 x 200m at 11.25am – sign up at the tent on your arrival so we can get our team entered in plenty of time.  Like all events relay entries close 30 minutes before.

Congratulations to our Showcase Competitors and 100 yards Champions

Alex Hanigan won the Bredan Hanigan 800m,

The 100 yard Championships Para Races were won by Alice Smillie and Alexander McKillop.

Unfortunately, one of our members has had their Instagram profile scammed.  Please be extra vigilant on social media – do not give money to anyone that requests help through social media.  Our club and club members will not be requesting money of you in this way.

Entry Portal Open

The entry portal for the Tasmanian State Championships is now open on the Athletics Tasmania website.  There are no qualifying standards to enter State Championships

We will be looking for relay runners so send an email, message the page or speak to Brendan Hanigan or a Club Captain.
