Interclub Details

This weeks interclub is Saturday afternoon starting at 1.00pm. The program is here  Relay is 4 x 100m - come on girls we missed you last meet!. Remember to sign up at the OVA tent, and enter the random prize draw.

Our duty this week is Shotput at 2pm for the men and 2.40pm for the women.  Rostered families this week are Hoare, Stevenson, Terblanche, Van Den Broek, Werkman. Lots of easy jobs if you are unsure and please help at both events.  If you can't help let people now in the OVA Members Facebook Group.

We also have the function room this Saturday afternoon - the bar is open and the coffee machine is available.  We need some helpers to make coffee and serve in the bar.  If you can help please let us know.  (Can anyone make a coffee better than Jacob Despard?) Invite your friends from other clubs to come up and chill out (or warm up).  There will be a special gussing competition - and you get to eat the prize! Come up and check it out.

Prizes!

Our random prize winners from round 5  and 7 will be announced at our Mid Season Function - be there to collect your prize. Callum Stevens was our Round 6 winner!

Remember to check in at the OVA tent and put your name in for the random draw. And sign up for the relay while you are there!

Keep working towards being our Highest Point scorer for the season as well to win the Shoes from Running Edge.

Congratulations to our Nationals Competitors.

All our OVA athletes did us proud with PB performances on the National Stage.

Blake Doyle lept looooooong in the Long Jump to WIN the u17 Long Jump with an OVA record breaking jump.  He then backed it up to leap  and run and achieve BRONZE in the 110m Hurdles breaking his own State Record.

Bailey van den Broek  was busy running, jumping and throwing her way to lots of PB's and a BRONZE medal in the u16 Long Jump.

Issy Gray gave it her all in her individual events and combined with an awesome Tassie team to win SILVER in the u18 4 x 100m, and writing their names into the record books as well with a new State Record.

Oliver Nogajski competed in his first Nationals running in the finals of the 100m with a fabulous PB.  Unfortunately his relay team didn't quite make it around, but we know this will not be Oliver's last time at Nationals and look forward to watching him fly up the track again soon.

Remember to join our new Facebook OVA Members group to keep up to date with all the latest news just for OVA members.  Follow this link if you haven't joined yet OVA Members Only Page  This a is great place to post all your news and if you can't cover your roster to ask for help.

Things to Remember..

• Wear your OVA uniform and remember to bring your number.  If you haven't yet collected it, numbers will be at the tent.
• Sign in at least 30 min before the start time listed in the program for your first event. (If you are unsure come and see us at the OVA tent for help)
• Check in at the OVA tent for your chance to win a prize. (Check the facebook group to see last weeks winner)
• Sign up for a relay team
• If you are withdrawing from an event please see admin and scratch

If you have a friend that would like to come and trial bring them along.  OVA will help out with the trialling fee.  There is some extra paperwork needed before registering for an event - so allow some extra time.

This will include our Special General Meeting to update our constitution, our special prize draw, record certificate presentations and pre Christmas fun.

Cadbury Marathon - 7th Jan

Helpers are needed to work on a drink station - raise money for OVA and get paid in chocolate, what a great way to start the year.

Night of Fives - inc 5000m State Champs.  Open to members and non-members to enjoy a 5km run on track.  A sprint event will also be included in the program.  Food, drinks, fun and great racing.  Saturday 13th January 2024.  Sign up NOW!
