Our 60th Anniversary Dinner was a fabulous night of remembering the past and looking forward to the future.  Thank you to the organising group especially Brendan, Lauren and Teresa.  Special thanks also to our special guests - Simon Hollingsworth and Jacob Despard.

There was plenty to celebrate from Round 3 - 3 Club records and 2 State Records - Congratulations to Blake, Tene and Isobel.

Good Luck to Stella and Milla competing in the School Sport Australia National All Schools - Primary this weekend in Launceston. (And Rosie and Amanda as Officials).

Sunday Interclub

This weeks interclub starts at 3pm on Sunday. The program is here  Relay is 4 x 100m, remember to sign up at the OVA tent.

Our duty this week is Shotput at 4pm for the women and 4.55pm for the men.  Rostered families this week are Direen, Job, Morey,  Round and Weimann. We will have people to help you and lots of very easy jobs.  If you are available to help out  extra helpers are always appreciated.  Athletics South recently posted information on their facebook page about Officials Education - check it out so you can learn more and help our events run smoothly.

Our Club Captains - Bailey, Josh and Mitch have organised a great social night at Zone 3 - this Friday, 24th November at 6.30pm and we would love to see you there. Cost is $15

Premiership Points

Each year OVA, thanks to our sponsors Running Edge, award a pair of shoes to the Highest Point scorer for OVA.  There is also a trophy for our Highest Female and Male points scorer.  Check the Athletics south website under the results tab to see where you are sitting in the Points Table.

How do you get points? - competing in a few different events, joining in a relay, running in the 3000m or 5000m at the Wednesday night Masters event.  If you have questions about Premiership points chat to one of the committee or your club captains to get a more detailed explanation.

Things to Remember..

• Wear your OVA uniform and remember to bring your number.  If you haven't yet collected it, numbers will be at the tent.
• Sign in at least 30 min before the start time listed in the program for your first event. (If you are unsure come and see us at the OVA tent for help)
• Check in at the OVA tent for your chance to win a prize. (Check the facebook group to see last weeks winner)
• Sign up for a relay team
• If you are withdrawing from an event please see admin and scratch

If you have a friend that would like to come and trial bring them along.  OVA will help out with the trialling fee.  There is some extra paperwork needed before registering for an event - so allow some extra time.

Special General Meeting 16th December.  

This will include our Special General Meeting to update our constitution, our special prize draw, record certificate presentations and pre Christmas fun.

Night of Fives - inc 5000m State Champs.  Open to members and non-members to enjoy a 5km run on track.  A sprint event will also be included in the program.  Food, drinks, fun and great racing.  Saturday 13th January 2024
