“Athletics Tasmania is pleased to announce that it is to have a new Executive Officer. Gabrielle Steele has been appointed to the contracted position effective from the end of this month. Gabby has been a successful business entrepreneur in Hobart over the last twenty years and will use the skills gained in this environment to lead Athletics Tasmania into the future”.
”Her appointment now allows Mr Roe to stand down from his eleven most recent years’ service as Honorary Executive Officer for Athletics Tasmania, something he has been seeking to do for some time when the circumstances permitted. President of Athletics Tasmania, Mike Gunson, has welcomed the appointment of Ms Steele, which has been made possible as a result of increased funding from Communities Sport and Recreation Tasmania.
“The athletics community in Tasmania has been exceptionally lucky to have had Brian working in a voluntary capacity for Athletics Tasmania for such a long period of time. He is one of the most accredited and knowledgeable people in the world in the sport of athletics. Brian has been an outstanding administrator and has always had the interest of the athletes as his number one concern,” Mr Gunson said.
You can visit the Athletics Tasmania website for more information and the full media release.
OVA also wish to congratulate Brain on his outstanding work and contribution to the sport of athletics in Tasmania, and his support and guidance towards all athletics clubs in Tasmania including the OVA Southern Saints.
