On behalf of Athletics Tasmania, Events Commissioner Brian Roe has passed on the following information:
"The 2019-20 Tasmanian 3000m (U15/U16/U18/Open) and mixed 4x400m Relay (U15/U18/Open) Championships will be held at Penguin on Saturday 30 November in conjunction with the regular NW Interclub Meet – commencing at 1pm. It is likely that as in the past the 3000m events will be at the beginning of the program and the relays at the end.
Hopefully the new online entry system for the 3000m can be available at the end of this week to enable those entries to be taken in that way. The entry form for the relays which are of course submitted by clubs is attached.
The Events Commission has determined that for a two year trial period all Tasmanian Relay Championships will be conducted in three age groups only – U15; U18 and open. In addition to the mixed 4x400m, the list of relay events contested will be limited to 4x100m and 4x400m (for under 18 and open) and 4x100m and 4x200m (for U15). These will be conducted on the relevant weekend for those age groups state track and field championships. The remaining state relay championship events that have been recognised will be held in abeyance until a review after two years.
The AT Season calendar has been updated and is attached. The only changes are the placement of the mixed 4x400m relay and the change in status of the Southern High Schools Carnival to permit meets following advice by the organisers that in 2019 they will be conducted the meets in accordance with AT/AA Rules."
Anyone from OVA wishing to express interest in the 4x400m can contact the club or Daimon.
